Chances for Johns Hopkins, Rice, and more! Please.

Hopkins has big ED advantage and so I think you have a shot there (between 33 - 50% ED). For the rest RD, Duke, UNC-CH (very tough OOS) 10%, Rice 20%, Tulane, Wake Forest, Colorado College and UTA 50%. Others well over 50%.

no i’m saying different reach(yet reachable) schools to apply to that havent seen my weak early SAT scores such as duke and rice

…

“Hopkins has big ED advantage and so I think you have a shot there (between 33 - 50% ED).”

Ugh this is completely false… people need to stop doing it. Johns hopkins is the best BME school so you are going to have a lot of amazing students that have JH at the top of their list (because BME is a hard major), so they will apply Early decision. Don’t think you have a 40-50% chance of getting in; that is a mistake.

Are you sure? because i’ve read in many places that applying ED to Johns Hopkins is one of the best schools to apply ED too because the admit rate nearly doubles.

Every school’s admit rate doubles…

Hello!

I think JHS and Rice are probably low reach and high match for you. Good choice in applying ED to JHS. Did you notice the acceptance rate was double if you apply ED? So I think you have a great shot. Duke is a little out of questions since it is such a competitive school and honestly, even people with perfect schools get rejected. But still apply! I think JHS is in your future though and if not, Rice should be too. You have SATs within the ranges which will help and a GPA that is within the range too. Also, your ECs are great. Illness assuming your Letters are good and Essays too. But brig grok TX might hurts your chances a little to Rice. Otherwise, you are in great shape!! Chance me back?

If CR went up, you have a chance.
