Please give me some feedbacks on my statistics, whether I would get into Lehigh University . My intended major is Biochemistry (Major), Pre-Medicine Program. (Maybe a minor in Psychology).
Right now your SAT is low for Lehigh and your rigor is also a little light. However, it is very good that your rigor is increasing for Senior yr. A lot will depend on how you perform, first semester of senior year. If you can achieve high grades in the more challenging courses and raise your SAT at least 150 points, you could have a shot.
But why no math senior year? You may want to add a math class for senior year. And have you taken any foreign language?
For students with SATs in the 1100-1190 range, Lehigh accepted 172 out of 1,358, which is 12.7%. This is well below their overall acceptance rate of 26.1% Furthermore, it is likely that many of the accepted students in the 1100-1190 range were recruited athletes.
So the odds of admission aren’t good with the current SAT score. Consider retaking the SAT, or maybe trying the ACT.
Seems like you keep making multiple threads for the same question. Right now, your chance for Lehigh is low. Your SAT is out of range and your rigor before senior year is weak. You should try and improve your SAT by at least 150 points and get high grades in your senior year APs, in order to have a chance at Lehigh.
I don’t understand, you said you were a junior. Ofcourse you have a good shot of getting in. When you take your SAT again at an older age, you should be able to get a better score.
My suggestion is that you google SAT sample tests download, and do them slowly and carefully, you will begin to notice that there are certain tricks to the types of questions and the answers that are available. Take multiple tests of each year and you will notice that the questions are basically the same but arranged differently. You just need to practice before taking the test. You CAN get in.
I absolutely agree with reformedman. Study over the Summer. Take an SAT/ACT Prep class. My daughter (Class of 2021 ED1 admitted) took a class near where it looks like you live also (Brandywine Learning Center) and bumped her ACT up 6 points. Also, Lehigh is ALL about demonstrated interest. If this is the school for you, visit, request an interview. Have the Admissions Office set up a day for you to sit in on classes that match your intended major and talk to the professors. Apply ED. These will all help your otherwise really good profile. The very best of luck!
What if they won’t give me a good financial aid? I wanna be a medical doctor! A lot of money is needed for that, so I am trying to save money. Should I still do ED. Is it worth it?
I don’t know about ED, but I was just accepted RD for the class of 2021 and Lehigh meets 100% of financial need. They gave me a ton of aid money and made it affordable. I believe that the % of people accepted ED is higher than RD and their stats are usually a little bit lower.
I had a 1410 SAT (700 CR 710 M) 4.0 W GPA. I took 7 AP’s including senior year , top 10 in my class of 250 and a bunch of EC’s. Don’t let some of my numbers make you think you have no chance. You can definitely improve your SAT score and you should try the ACT as well. As long as you show them you can do well in your AP classes and you put a lot of thought into your essay and supplements, you have a chance. It is also really important to Lehigh that you show interest so if possible, I would recommend visiting and even setting up an interview.
