Chances for LSA?

I plan on applying to LSA for Microbiology and Premed. I am in state, white male.
GPA is 3.95 Unweighted
ACT: First time: 31C (32E, 31M, 27R, 32S) Second time: 30C (35E, 35M 24E, 27S)
Ranked 12/388 - Top 3%

Extracurriculars:
Eagle Scout- Been in Scouting for 10+ years and part of Order of the Arrow; carried out $1,500 playground renovation Eagle Scout project.
Lead Strategist and former House Leader for FRC Robotics team; finished 4th in world in 2015 and 1st in state.
Tutor at High School for past 4 years and tutored 2-4 days a week.
Member of National Honor Society.
Member of HOSA.
Several school awards, including excellence in Spanish, Geometry, etc.
Worked a job for 45+ hours in summer and on weekends during school year since Sophomore year.
Coached a robotics team for elementary school kids for two years.
Taken part in Adopt-A-Road cleanups for Boy Scouts and Robotics, along with other miscellaneous service projects for other programs.
Part of high school wrestling and lacrosse team freshman year until 4 knee surgeries required me to stop.

I forgot to mention I have taken 7 AP classes and all honors and AP classes offered at my school.

Your chances are very good. Your stats are similar to my kid’s and she’s a microbio major at Umich. She had a similar composite on her ACT, but scored a 34 in Science…not sure if that makes a difference. Her gpa was 3.96, also in top 3%. She also had a lot of APs, community service, and leadership roles in her ECs She did get 5s in AP Bio and Calc AB. I think your chances are very good. Write excellent essays.

You are well within LSA range, the ACT is slightly below median but GPA above. Take the essays seriously and you will be fine. If you are deferred, don’t fret, plenty of kids at my son’s school (in-state) with similar stats to yours were and received their acceptance in February. Make sure to apply EA (Nov 1) otherwise it will be much more difficult.

Michigan really wants the best in-state students (you!) and with an 82% yield, clearly the students want to go to Michigan too.
