Chances for LSE and Oxford PPE (NEED HELP!!!)

Hey guys,
As an American,
I have looked at the requirements for these schools but haven’t had a lot of comprehensive knowledge on how my resume will appear to these schools. I don’t know what affect SAT, ACT, and SAT2’s will have.I have already applied and I really want to know what my legitimate chances are.

AP USH - 4 :(( :(( (I have no idea what happened, this was my favorite subject and I studied so hard for it)
AP Statistics - 5
AP European History - 5
AP Government and Comparative Gov’t - 5 5
AP Language - 5
Macroeconomics - 5
Microeconomics - 5
AP World History - 5
AP Art History - Currently Taking
AP Calculus AB - Currently Taking
AP Phycology - Currently Taking

SAT - 2350
ACT - 36
SAT 2 USH - 780
SAT 2 Math 2 - 800
SAT 2 Literature - 800
SAT 2 World History - 800

I know my extracurriculars aren’t too important, but these are what I talked about for my personal statement…

  • JSA Director
  • Debate Vice-President
  • Investment Club Vice-President and Co-Founder
  • Founder of public-policy and gov't
  • 600 hours at dad's printing franchise
  • 500 hours at congressman's office
  • I know aced my Thinking Skills Assessment
  • I loved my Oxford Interview, the questions were really thought-provoking and I am confident I did well.

The reason why this is extremely important is that I dramatically failed during my freshman, sophomore, and first half of junior year. So my GPA means I would be headed to a local state school or (since I am a Canadian resident) UToronto and University of Western Ontario (They only count 12th grade gpa  ). I was so focused on the future I didn’t focus on the present until the second half of junior year. I was really lucky to be born in Canada and have Canadian resident status and have the family $$$ to afford LSE and Oxford.

“As an American,” “I was really lucky to be born in Canada[…]”
Do you have dual citizenship or…?

So. Yeah, your stats border perfection of any candidate wanting to attend those institutions. Your interview went well, you have the money, you have the grades and test scores to wrap up your application in a diamond-encrusted package that most universities would not deny. Make a decent application and essay and you’re in.
I’d say “Good Luck” but… You won’t be needing that. Enjoy Oxford!

I am a dual citizen, and thank you for commenting!

What sort of help do you actually need? your application process is complete at both unis. There is no help that anyone can give you at this stage. You got to interview at Oxford (@AGoodFloridian, Oxford interviews are held after the application is complete- getting an interview for PPE at Oxford means that the app, essay, rec and TSA score were all strong), and after that all bets are off.

We can all tell you your stats are great- but you know that.
We can all wish you good luck.

That’s about it.

From my understanding the TSA is one of the critical aspects of an admissions offer. How exactly do you “know” that you aced the test? Did they give you the results ?

@sgopal2, OP may have been told that at interview , but s/he had to have done well on the test to get to interview. Once you get to interview, relative TSA score only helps decide close calls- and anecdotally, only if it’s really really close in all other dimensions and there’s a big difference in relative TSA scores between 2 candidates.

@collegemom3717. Many thanks! For some reason I thought that the TSA was given only after the interview. But thanks for your explanation, makes sense.

no worries  Cambridge does testing at & after interview, but Oxford does it before.
