Note on SATs:
I sent in all 3 scores for the places I'm applying early (UMD, UVA, WPI, Purdue) and I will send take 2 and 3 for the others. My only worry is that even though I scored a 700 on math, they will think lesser of it because of my two lower scores. I do have the 700 Math II to back it up. I don't know what happened on take 1 and 2... I'm a good math student. I'm just glad I finally broke 700s in math.

I do have a downward trend in grades, but an upward trend in course difficulty. I went from taking 2 honors freshman year (all As), to 4 honors sophomore year (half As, half Bs), to 5 honors and 1 AP junior year (all Bs, A- in the AP) to 5 APs Senior year.

Senior Courseload:
AP Physics C Mechanics
AP Calc AB
AP Computer Science
AP Stats
AP English Lit
Technology Internship

Schools (in order of interest):

Smith College
Rochester Institute of Technology
Embry Riddle
Wentworth Institute of Technology
Daniel Webster

bump 10char

Your math II subject will balance the other math scores. I’d say you have a good shot for Purdue and Rochester (the only two schools I have background knowledge of). Especially since you’re a female, engineering would be easier for you to get in.

The rest of your stats depend much on your ECs, as in what have you done to show your interest? Since you’re interested in aerospace, perhaps an essay could be about how or why you’re interested? I’m not sure about the other schools, but I do have a friend who is EA Purdue, and he has really strong math grades with not much else in ECs.

Cheers~

yeah, my essay is about how I first became interested in that field and what I have done since then. anyone else?

bump to the top

I’d say you have a pretty good chance. UVA is a bit of a reach though.
