<p>I’m also currently a semifinalist. @4everEpical I think you have the stats to get to the Finalist round. I’ve talked to some of the current McDermott scholars, and they’ve said that once you make finalist, they pretty much pick the new scholars based on their performance at finalist weekend. McDermott Scholars Program rolls out the red carpet during the Finalist Weekend. They paid both DS and my travel and hotel stay. The students share hotel room with another student; parents have their own single rooms.
They took time to explain in detail about the program and you will have plenty of time to chat with the administrators, current students and their parents, as well as other finalists and their parents.
As a part of the program, we got to attend a symphony concert. They provide transportation to all events and airport.
I would say this was one of the nicest finalist weekend DS participated in. They made you feel like you are being courted and not just a number. I was very impressed that many administrators came up to us and know DS and my name and can speak to details about DS’s background without referring to any notes.
Congratulations @Renasani and @CoMoMom !!! I just checked my email and didn’t see anything… Hopefully they don’t send them out all at once and I still have a chance…
