what do you think my chances are? can my sats be overlooked considering the rest of my application?

please help me =[ lol

Well, your SAT is lower than most...However, your ECs are pretty good including your volunteer hours! I think it is a strech but hopefully!

Thanks Anyone else?

sats are kinda low, but low stats can almost always be overlooked with really eye-catching or flashy ecs or essays. so, you never know, i wish you the best of luck! i applied ea to mcdonough as well and am waiting for a decision, but i know it's a complete crapshoot!

thanks anyone else?

SATS very low. Look on this board for the students accepted EA last year. That doesn't mean you don't have a shot, but I'd think you have more of a RD shot than an EA shot.

ok thanks, anyone else? are my sats the only harmful aspect lol

i guess you can't really worry about it now. you're decision is in the hands of usps! :O if you are deferred, though, you could retake the SAT!

yea i suck at them, obviously, i was just hoping it could be overlooked lol maybe the mcdonough school wont have as many applicants haha

They have 50% more EA applicants this year, which boosts the overall total considerably, provided the normal amounts of RD applicants apply. :-/ GIVE THE ACT! My Sat sucks, my ACT is a 34. THings happennnnnn

mcdonough had a 50% increase in applications this year (gtown overall had like a 34% increase). sucks, i know. hmm well i guess we'll both know in the next couple of days!

i wish i would have taken the act....=[ lol but yeah i guess we will know soon enough, and im pretty sure its going to ruin my weekend

anyone else lol

Where did you guys hear about the increase in applicants? Just curious.

I also heard that Georgetown in general is planning to accept more EA people than they usually do. Hopefully that will help fight against the increase.

And does anyone know approximate stats on how many unqualified people apply?

The applicant increase was published in the Hoya (the student paper here on campus), I don't know whether the article is still accessible.

Despite a lower expected yield rate than other years, Georgetown's acceptance rate is projected to drop 2% to 18% overall.

As far your third question, no one really knows - doubt even people in admissions would know. How do you qualify "unqualified"?

any other advice ?

possibility with those stats? im sorry if im being annoying, im just nervous lol

anyone, cant wait anymore

dude how do ya have a 5.75 and are only 14th in ur class
thats ridiculous
