Hey guys! I’m new to CC and I just really want to know your guys’ opinions on my chances at USC, UCLA, UCB, UCSB, and UCSD. Here are my stats:
GPA: 4.52 W and 3.98UW
ACT: 34 composite: 34 English, 31 math, 36 reading, 36 science
No ranking since my school is a small private school
6 AP’s including senior year: AP Bio (4), AP Psych (5), AP Lang, AP Calc AB, AP Environmental Science, and APUSH
SAT2: 740 Molecular Bio
EC’s are pretty good (not a lot total but I stayed in each for multiple years with leadership roles: EX: Co-captain of
Women’s Varsity Tennis team and program officer at an organization where I raised over $60,000 in one year)
Multiple honors awards
Counselor says my essays are great

What do you guys think?
Not bad but your kinda 50/50
my brother has a similar gpa
got rejected everywhere but Berkeley
he only got in because he did physics research at a small university
@ripcity0 Thanks for replying! hopefully it’ll be 50/50 in my favor!
you are a strong applicant for all of them.
good luck.
I can’t give you anything more than “I have friends who have your same/similar stats and they got in” for both UCB and UCLA. So if I were you, I wouldn’t stress.
Let us know!
I think you’re a lock for UCSB and UCSD. The others will depend on what the schools think of your small, private high school and only having 6 AP classes. I suspect you’ll get at least one of the top 3.
http://talk.qa.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1903428-faq-uc-historical-frosh-admit-rates-by-hs-gpa.html can help you with past admission rates of UCs by (UC weighted capped) GPA range.
However, your intended major can make a difference, since some majors (e.g. computer science) are significantly more difficult to get into than the campus overall).
