i know i have to raise my SAT score. What is the minimum score i have to get to get a good chance to get in?

o yea, one of my friend that went to Chapel Hill had a 1740 SAT score. i don't know how he did it

thx

Focus on getting your SAT scores a little higher, maybe in the 1900+ range. You really should consider taking the ACT though, some people find it is a much more bearable test than the SAT. You should also think about joining another club or activity for your senior year, maybe you could run for an officer position or try to found your own club. Your grades are good, but raise your test scores and get more involved in extracurricular activities and you’ll have a pretty good shot!

P.S. Schools really don’t take perfect attendance into account in the application process, so unless you could find a way to work it into your essays, it really won’t be a factor.

Your extracurriculars are really weak. If there’s a good reason for that, hype it up.

Study the SAT like it’s a class in itself. The spark note books for it help a lot.

does Chapel Hill look at the SAT or ACT score more? my sister didn’t take the ACT, only SAT and SAT II and she got into Duke.

They’ll look at either, and take preference to whichever is higher.

I’d recommend taking the ACT. My ACT was substantially better than my SAT (33/36 compared to 1400/1600). The test format suits some better than others, and based on what you’ve told us, you look like you’d do better on the ACT than the SAT.
