thoughts??

I’m seriously considering applying to UCLA and UC berkeley. I haven’t looked in to upper tier schools because idk my school is extremely competitive and there are lots of people more qualified than me and only barley a handful get into places like MIT + Cal tech + ivies. Plus I gotta make sure places I apply to don’t check first semester senior year for admission (i dont care if they check afterwards) as I’m currently getting my ass handed to me in calc.

Thank you! Will do

Bumpppp

Your ACT 33 is right at the admission average of UMich CoE last year while your GPA is below the admission average 3.9. Your course rigor is good. I need more information from your ACT scores. Did you retake and get a higher score in September? If so, why not put that down instead. Also, how are your section scores?

If considering ACT 33 and GPA 3.82, UMich CoE would be a low reach for you as both are at or below admission average and the admission rate is 20%. UIUC ENG has a similar admission stat (depending on major) as UMich although they have a higher admission rate.

For both UIUC and UMich, you are not likely to receive any financial aid. Make sure your family can afford both kids going to OOS schools at the same time. These 2 schools will cost you $50k-$60k per year.

It was something like 34 English 33 math 33 reading and 34 science

Also I didn’t put it down because I had that text done last year and only got one response so I copy pasted most of it.

Mr. Flowers is a good teacher, you’ll do fine on the midterm

You will get into all the schools on your list. Cheers!

Chance me back?
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1691716-chance-and-will-chance-back.html#latest

So your current ACT composite is 34? In that case, UMich CoE would be a high match to low reach for you as you are from OOS with GPA below average and ACT near 75th percentile due to the low admission rate.

UPDATE: I applied to UMD, UMICH, UIUC, Purdue, and UT Austin

Accepted in to First Year Engineering/ Mechanical engineering in all of the schools (Honors college for UMD, which was a surprise), have yet to hear from UT Austin

Cheers!
