Thank you

You will undoubtedly get about $6,000 per year for 4 years in scholarships at Oregon State (as long as you keep your GPA up high enough at the university). (A total of $24,000 for the four years).

Considering that in-state tuition is about $5,900, this means that you will only end up paying for the housing, meals, books, and travel costs per year (about another $11,000 per year). You can get financial aid to cover part of this as well if your parents FAFSA says you need it. About 54% of students get some financial aid--averaging about $8,000 or so per year. I don't have the stats on how much of this is grants versus loans at OSU--sorry.

I'm guessing you can probably expect to receive about another $4,000 per year in financial loans or grants in addition to the $6,000 scholarship. This will leave you and your parents paying $7,000 per year, plus you having to pay off about $12,000 to 16,000 in loans after graduation.

Best of success and congratulations on the good grades and test scores.

wow thanks a lot calcruzer, that was really helpful
