<p>Penn State gives very little aid to most students except for federal and state grants for lower income students. Students accepted to the Schreyer Honors College do receive a $4500 merit award per year but that hardly puts a dent in out of state (or even instate) tuition.</p>

<p>Well, I do know that the process is holistic, mostly based on multiple essays. SAT/ACT scores aren’t considered. Admission is quite competitive, similar to Ivies.</p>
