Hi there. I was wondering if anyone might be able to predict merit money for TCNJ?

Out of state, 3.94 weighted, 690 m, 640 cr.

Hi there. I was wondering if anyone might be able to predict merit money for TCNJ?

Out of state, 3.94 weighted, 690 m, 640 cr.

From what I’ve heard, $3,500 is the magic number. My friend who goes to TCNJ had 4.3 and a high SAT. He says that the max is $3,500. I can honestly neither conform nor denie the accuracy of this statement but I thought you should know whats been said.

Supposedly the max amount of merit aid varies year to year. I can tell you I was given what they called the Presidential Award or something like that. I was told it was the highest amount of “merit” aid they gave that year (and it was over $3500).

Thanks for the replies! HazelEyez, are you an out of state student?

No, I am in-state. According to the website, over 75% of out of state applicants have gotten merit aid. Anyone who is accepted and is eligible for aid will be sent a supplemental packet to fill out with their acceptance package (in-staters do not have to fill out this supplement). Your stats look good so I’d say you have a good shot at getting something. The actual amount though is kind of hard to guess. Good luck!

HazelEyes, if in-state applicants are eligible for the aid and they don’t have to fill out the supplemental packet, are they notified WITH their acceptance letter that they could receive Merit Aid? If they choose to attend TCNJ, when will they find out how much they will get?

My son has a 1400 SAT and is in the top 10% of his class. From what I’ve read on this forum, he stands a pretty good chance for Merit Aid, but we know nothing is guaranteed.

Thanks for the insight.

You should receive your merit aid notification with your acceptance letter. However, I cannot guarantee this occurs for early decision applicants because I was regular decision (I would assume they would be notified with acceptance too, but again, I can’t say for sure).

Hey, when TCNJ says it sends out its ED decisions on December 15, do they really mean on that day, because I am waiting for their decision and it’s driving me CRAZY lol! Should I stop checking their site everyday and wait for the date as previously mentioned above? If I do get accepted, will they tell me on the PAWS system, or will they send me a letter, or both?
-Thanks

Anybody’s input would be helpful:)

Pharmacyhopeful,

Perhaps you should start a new thread with the subject heading “Early Decision.” That might catch someone’s eye who can answer your question.

Good Luck!

Thanks lol I didn’t even think of that!

$3500 seems about right. I think max merit aid is usually around $6500.
