chances for michigan from out of state

GPA:94/100
ACT:30
SAT II: 700 Bio E 770 US History
ECs: Nothing really of note here, my ECs are pretty poor. I volunteer as a camp counselor over the summer. I am a peer leader to incoming ninth graders(basically guide and help them) , nhs, model congress, a few other negligible things.
Rank ~19/300
10 APs by graduation

try to work on those ECs but I'd say you have a good chance

michigan doesn't really consider ec's-and since you have some things to put on that part of the app, you should be fine. Make sure to apply early.

what do you mean they don't count ECs? Should I even bother writing ECs down for U of Mich? My ECs aren't bad but they aren't GREAT... if it doesn't really count should I not write it?

intotherain,

You're thinking about this way too much! ;) Relax a little. It's summer.

YES, include your ec's on the application. There's a whole section for them on it Michigan DOES look at them when your application is in review. All nirvana meant was that the school doesn't go into as much depth when they review your ec's as would, say, an elite private school. They have over 23,000 applications to review each year so they don't have time to be hawks on finding kids with steller ec's (though some, I'm sure, do stand out to them). They probably focus more on your grades, test scores, and essays.

um yeah, ECs definitely count. otherwise, i probably wouldn't have gotten in. actually, i don't know. i'm just talking out of my ass

just curious what your stats were that you considered your ECs what got you in
