Chances for Middlebury, Georgetown SFS, Wesleyan

Hey all,
I've been working on narrowing down my list of school that I would like to apply to. I think I've been able to determine my safeties and "good-fit" schools, but I really have no way of gauging what my chances are like for certain reach schools. I'd love some input-

GPA: My GPA is lower than what I think I'm capable of, mainly because of freshman year/early sophomore year. Our school does weight the grades, so I'll have to estimate for the unweighted values-

Freshman- 89.0
Sophomore-93.8
Junior-96.9

I think this all roughly translates into a 3.7 UW Cumulative GPA
Also, maybe important to note that as the difficulty level of my classes goes up, the grades tend to follow suit, though math and science are consistently lower than humanities classes.

Test Scores:
ACT English 32, Math, 28, Reading 34, Science 28 (Composite 31)
SAT II: US History 750, English Lit 680 (eh)
AP: World History 4, Bio 4, US History 4, English Lang and Comp 5

I'll rely heavily on interesting ECs to compensate for GPA
They include:
- 2 years of JV Basketball, Captain
- 3 years of travel Basketball, Captain
- 1 year of Varsity Diving
- Successful Youth and Government Team, voted best bill two consecutive years, nominated as best debator
- 1 year of Moot Court, 2/187 at Princeton University tournament
- Independent Study of Spanish,
[A few summers ago, I participated in an Immersion/Host stay program in Spain. Unfortunately, it was catered much more to girls than boys, so I ended up with a boy much younger. We couldn't connect as well as I had hoped, but I made some other friends there and stayed in touch, and two years later we've created our own, personalized and free, exchange program. They come here and study english and live with us, and we go there to study spanish.]
- I will be the president of our schools first Moot Court Team this school year.
- I have also won both english and spanish achievement awards
- Studied Development Economics at Columbia this past summer

I am interested in Studying International Relations/Studies and possibly minoring in Spanish. Any suggestions for other good IR schools are certainly welcome as well.

Additionally, I'm half indian. I know that isn't an underrepresented ethnicity in most top tier schools, but Middlebury seemed to be shockingly white. Would my ethnicity help there in terms of affirmative action and what not?

I had another account but can't seem to access it, so if this info sounds familiar, that is why, I've posted from the other account in the past.

bump, (sorry)

Your numbers are a little on the low side for all three, but you’re definitely in the ballpark. I think you have a shot.

Curious as to why you say that Midd seemed shockingly white. Its percentage of Indian students has got to be comparable to the other two and it’s overall percentage of minorities is very close to the other two. According to some dated info, Wesleyan is 28% minority, G’Town is 26% (and that’s overall, I wouldn’t be surprised to learn that it’s lower in SFS), and Midd is 21% minority. In schools the size of Midd and Wes, that means about 100 more minority students at Wes. I wouldn’t expect that small a number to shock anyone. And at a school as small as SFS you’ll probably find more minority students at Midd in terms of whole numbers.

I’d say they’re all reaches or low reaches for you, because like urbanslaughter said your numbers are a little on the low side. Also, honestly I don’t think your half-Indian status will help you-- Indian is classified as Asian and Asians are not a minority at most top schools like Middlebury.

I noticed that you studied development economics at Columbia this summer – was it part of their summer program for high school students?
