any other suggestions on where to apply?

please dont waste forum space

I’m not really sure what you’re saying

What do you think he’s saying?

Why even post a chance thread. I’m sure you already know whether you can/cannot get in.

In other words, he was saying, with these awesome credentials why bother posting a chance thread. Take it as a backhanded compliment ;)

Oh, well…sorry then. I’m concerned I don’t have anything “spectacular” other than test scores

Hmm… I wouldn’t be so sure as the others. Don’t get me wrong: all of your credentials are great, but every year for one reason or another (essays, recs, etc.), kids just like you get rejected. Its very unpredictable at this level of school.

MIT especially looks well beyond test scores and GPA among their applicants. The school also does not care about a lot of random ECs. They want to see some serious commitment to math and science. Success at national or international math/science competitions does help but is no guarantee. More than half of USAMO qualifers are rejected. Participation in research does help especially if done over an extended period. Also, there is no longer any long essays, just specific questions and answers. The mandatory interview and rec letters are also very important: they won’t get you admitted but can easily get you rejected.

haha, thank you for the reality check pixels

What is AP Java?

AP Computer Science A, sorry, colloquialisms :P

bump
10char

You’re at least one top uni, Caktexh almost fo sho as they look to grades more

I think u have a very nice chance for MIT since your basically the perfect student SAT, GPA grade wise … and also most of your EC’s are science/math related and they seem pretty good  … i wish u very good luck lol

You should apply to Duke and Columbia as well.

I know Duke has a really good biomedical program, but why Columbia?
