Chances for MIT, Cornell, ...

First off, thank you for reading this thread and providing your input. I am a rising senior at a competitive private school and I am the child of two Indian immigrants. I was born in and still live in the U.S.

SAT: 2240 (770 M, 750 W, 720 CR)

SAT II: 800 Math II, 770 Physics, 760 U.S. History

Class Rank: 2

AP's

BC Calculus: 5
Physics B: 5
Chemistry: 5
Biology: 5
U.S. History: 5
English Language and Composition: 4
English Literature and Composition: senior year
Physics C Mechanics: senior year

I have taken every math and science class at the school and am now taking classes online.

Extra-Curriculars:

Varsity Tennis: 2 year captain, 4 years experience
FIRST Robotics: captain, 3 years
Math Team: status unknown, 4 years, 2-time state champion (so far)
JV Basketball: 2 years, 2 year starter, didn't junior year
Harvard Model UN: 1 year, not a delegate because I joined too late
National Honors Society: 1.5 years

Volunteering: about 200 hours (hospital, helping elderly people, working at a soup kitchen, helping at a local educational farm)

Paid Work Experience: soccer referee, working at a different farm

I am also working for an MIT professor on a project with two other high school students. We are designing solar panels that track the Sun, fold up to prevent damage, and run autonomously. We are also doing it with very little adult help; they are only giving us suggestions. I have also taken a summer class taught with material from the same MIT professor called the FUNdaMENTALS of Design. I have built a farm stand and cold frames for my mother as well. I am also working with a friend on a racing lawnmower.

Colleges:
MIT
Cornell
UCAL Berkeley
Harvard
Princeton
Olin
Northeastern
RPI

Please tell me my chances for getting accepted to each of these schools. My #1 choice is MIT, but I am not sure of whether I have a chance. If you have any suggestions on how to improve my application or what else I can do, please tell me. Thank you very much!

You certainly look like you’re on the right path, and it helps that you’re doing work at MIT to get your foot in the door.

Of course it would help that your SAT were higher, but all in all, you look like a candidate that I would seriously consider.

Your chances are decent, but just the same as many other people. You see the issue is that your application will look identical to roughly 5,000 others. 2200+ SAT, AP courses, tennis (you’d be amazed at the percentage of MIT applicants that play tennis). Why are you not taking another math course this year?

Decent applicant. How did you dissuade MIT professor to work with you? Or how did you find him? Thank you

I found the professor because he lives near me and his wife happens to coach a robotics team near my house.
