Chances for MIT, Georgia Tech

I am a rising senior from Arizona, and I am wondering about my chances of making it at these two schools

GPA: 4.0 out of 4.0 unweighted
Class rank: about 10 out of 630
SAT: 2140 Math:800 Reading:680 Writing:660
ACT: 35 Math:34 English: 35 Reading 36 Science 36
SAT II Math II: 800
Marching Band: 4 years
Band Council: 2 years
Section leader: 1 year
NHS Member
Possible National Merit Finalist

You need at least one more subject test in science. Your ACT score is good and GPA too. EC is rather weak though. You should be a match for GA Tech.

I was planning on doing the physics subject test after doing AP Physics, or during it

You said you are a rising senior. So did you take AP Physics already? Otherwise, your plan to take SAT2 Physics after AP Physics does not sound right unless you want to go for a gap year. It sounds like another trolling thread.

I have to take AP physic my senior year because of how my school structures the science courses. I wrote the previous comment without thinking and see on second thought that it was very dumb. I will take the physics one before the end of first semester.

So you don’t have other science subject that you can take SAT2? Since you would be doing mostly self-studying for the test, don’t wait till the end of the first semester. Work hard on it over the summer and take it as soon as possible.

Gtech shouldn’t be too much of an issue, but MIT looks for a wow-factor in its applicants, which you need to get across in your app. Ironically, I think MIT uses numbers and vanilla ECs less than some other “less prestigious” colleges.
