Very strong applicant, except I think for MIT your math scores could be even higher.

Good chance for all of them. Your SAT 1 and Math 2 scores could be higher. Retake Math II and get an 800- that’s important for MIT and caltech, though not a requirement. Room for improvement on Math SAT 1 as well.

AMC or Olympiad Performance?

You are in the possible range for all those schools. But the only ones who can give you a realistic assessment of your chances are the members of the admissions committees at those schools, and then only when they have your complete application package in front of them.

In other words: nobody on CC or anywhere else on the Internet.

This message is MIT-specific, but the principle applies to all selective colleges:

Make sure your college list includes some safeties - schools where your stats are well above the norm, that you can pay for under most pessimistic FA assumptions, and where you’d be happy.

Great chances at
UCB, CMU

Most likey in at
Georgia Tech, UIUC, Michigan, Virginia, Texas

Stanford: Nobody knows
MIT: Reach (unless you can fly or you won IMO gold medal)

Cal Tech: Reach (unless you can fly or you won IMO gold medal)

Cal Tech: Your scores are “low” for Cal Tech

@renomamma

yeah, i’ve been told this before, and I’m retaking the SAT in November. thank you so much!

@bobtheboy

thanks for your input! I’m definitely going to be getting those SAT scores up…

@ca2012

unfortunately, nothing major yet. :frowning:
I’ll be taking the AMC 12 this year though…

@annasdad

Thank you so much for the input and information. I am aware that frequently, these kinds of threads are not anywhere near accurate for college admissions, but it’s still fun to see if you’re in the general ballpark sometimes. :)

at worst, my ego may be a little bruised, but I can live with that haha.

@20more

thanks for the raw data (those scores are sky high!); I know caltech admissions are notorious for accepting only those with the best of the best in test scores, but hopefully I’ll have at least some sort of chance at getting in haha.

i dont understand how you could have taken so many courses each year :slight_smile: your college list seems reasonable to me im positive you’ll get into a college ur satisfied with.

chance back?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1216091-suggestions-help-average-ish-senior.html

@mankon

thanks for the chance! I’m not at a computer right now (iPhone for the win haha) but I’ll be sure to chance you once I do get onto one!

@mssalycat

some of the courses are online, so I can fit more courses in for each year.

anyway, like I said above, I’m not currently at a computer, but I’ll be sure to chance you back once I get onto one!

i’ve chanced you guys back!

Wait, i see no scores for ur junior year ap classes. So does that mean ur still a junior?

yeah, pretty much haha.

westfield, I think you are wasting other people’s time if you are asking for chances while you are still in your junior year. If you have done so much even before your junior year first semester, you are already a strong candidate. But realistic chances can be gleaned only at the beginning of senior year. You obviously have time to ace the subject/AP tests.

@fall2016parent

thank you for the information; however, when I started this thread, I was simply looking for a ballpark estimate as to how well qualified I might be for the schools listed. From what I have gathered reading some forums here on CC, the users of this site are almost always quite knowledgeable in these subjects, so I wanted to try posting some stats.

I understand where you are coming from, but I’d love to continue receiving chances from anyone that’d like to do so!
