Chances for MIT,Stanford,UCB,Cornell?

<p>Hey there everyone,
Well I currently study in my 12th grade in a state board school of India. I have taken the SAT 1 and 2 as well.
Scores:
SAT 1
Math: 750
Reading:560 (too low I know)
Writing: 610 (low as compared to where I am applying)</p>

<p>SAT 2
Math 1 : 750
Physics: 800
Chemistry:780</p>

<p>Other Scholastic Merits:
National Talent Search Examination Scholar
First Certificate in English by Cambridge University
Macmillan Distinctions in Computer Science, Science and Mathematics</p>

<p>I belong to the top 5% students in my batch at school. And I'll also be taking my SAT 1 again in November.</p>

<p>As far as ECs are concerned, I have many,
I took the Computer Science and Programming course on edx by MIT
I am the council president for the school council
Previously I was also the event manager for the school student council
I am also the founder/president of the Tech Club in my school.
Also I plan to publish a research paper, based on Wireless Electricity- a research I conducted for Google Science Fair(though couldn't complete the project)
I have also earned the Trinity College of London certificates in music.
I have a "fusion" band of my own in which I play synthesizers. Also I am fluent in playing guitar and percussion.
I recently developed a kinect based app to control lights and play music.
Also, for the community service, I have been the key part of the "Design For Change" week
We took up the "save food save lives" topic once, and now we are looking to solve a "traffic clogging" issue near the school.
I love Computer Science and Programming. I am fluent with C,C#, html, python already.
I also have attended too many college level tech fest workshops on robotics. Recently I made an accelerometer based robot.</p>

<p>So what do you all think are my chances at such universities?</p>

<p>Hello fellow Indian  .I think your EC’s are definitely your strong point. However , your SAT’s are way too low for the Ivy League and MIT/UCB/Stanford. I am an Indian too and am well aware of the fact that we are way too "obsessed"with UCB , MIT and Stanford. I’m not saying you won’t get in , but do have options ready. Also , try the ACT if you find that the SAT will be difficult to improve on (I’m talking about drastic improvements:along the lines of atleast 150-200 points).
However , since your EC’s are sorted , you can take the time to improve your SAT/ACT score! Best of Luck!</p>

<p>Apart from boosting your standardized test scores (mind ACT! It’s hard to boost too, unless you’re scientific) by max, (you need at least total 2250+ to have a chance), rmb essays.</p>

<p>Make sure you put some safeties, and according to your score now, I’d save places like Vanderbilt, UCSD, Rice, etc.
Also, I know it’s hard for an international applicant, but the scholar awards are far insufficient. You need something to stand you out esp in these ‘Ivies’.</p>

<p>Chance me back! Good luck.</p>

<p>If You got a English Certificate from Cambridge, then how the heck is your SAT CR so low??</p>

<p>Because I couldn’t get time to prepare thoroughly for the SAT 1 and also they don’t ask direct vocab in FCE…Thanks</p>

<p>@alafae‌ could you clarify when you say “scholar awards are insufficient” what exactly do you mean? Thanks And also I’m not planning on taking the ACT. And I’m thinking of keeping the Purdue and Georgia Tech for my backup along with the University of Texas Austin, am I on the right track?</p>

<p>And also, what do you all think aren’t my Subject Test scores up to the mark? Or do I need to boost them up as well?</p>
