Chances for MIT?

I am currently a Junior and just want to see what my chances are at MIT and what other schools I should consider. Would love to major in computer science or mathematics.

GPA- 3.7
(Grades, I have to admit, were bad in my freshman and sophomore year but I am an A student now.)

Current classes-
AP Calculus AB
AP English 3
Dual Credit History
Pre-AP Physics
Graphic Design ( enrolled at a career high school where we must choose a pathway with dual block electives and this seemed most fun)

Next year classes-
AP Calculus BC
AP Physics
AP English
AP Chemistry
Academic Decathlon

EC's-
National Honor Society- Officer
National Technical Honor Society- Soon to be officer (new school with a brand new chapter)
SkillsUSA- President
Habitat for Humanity
Also wish to start a math or science club of some kind since my district doesn't like to offer Computer Science or other math related clubs, any suggestions on what we could do? :)

SAT composite- 2100
ACT scores coming in soon but I feel confident.
Taking SAT subject tests next year.

Was also considering applying to Carnegie Mellon, Stanford, UT, Princeton, etc... Heart and mind is REALLY set on MIT though.

Thanks in advance!

I haven`t met a MIT student with gpa less than 3.9, so think about your grades.

…and SAT scores. Try to raise your score by at least 50 points if not 100-150.

I know my gpa is low but I’m hoping the drastic improvement in my grades and my extra curriculars will show what I’m capable of.

Note, the high school i go to is BRAND new so their weren’t many clubs or things I could join or challenging classes I wish i could take( AP comp sci, decathlon, microeconomics, and a few others).

I’m also taking the SAT again in June and hoping for at least 20-60 points of improvement or more.

Anything else I could do to improve my chances? Love the feedback!

I think a 3.7 , 2100 would make you a good match for Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute and Georgia Tech if MIT doesn’t pan out. Both world class engineering schools that will maximize your potential.

No real EC’s, low-ish GPA and SAT’s?
Sorry, no MIT or Stanford for you. Like the above poster said, Georgia Tech and RPI could work. Even Wentworth, even though you may be overqualified for that I know a couple smart people that went there, so you could at least look at it.

Yeah, you’re out of the running for MIT, Stanford, and Princeton.

The previous suggestions are on par with what you should expect. You might still have a chance at CMU so I’d check that out.

Look at WPI(Worcester Polytechnic Insitute), it’s a great school, in a great location, with an amazing campus, and it hosts a job fair after graduation where employers recruit you!
