As a person who lives in an affluent city of Oregon(pretty much rural compared to Eastern States) where most kids go to the state universities and have little resources in school and city, math/science stuff I did were the best I could do.

BTW, I am a Questbridge Applicant.
And is'nt it odd that a nationally recognized school doesn't have any support in math/science activity??

P.S. Please be polite.

I made a math club in this school when I was frosh,. There wasn’t any math cub before in this high school.

I think you have a good chance at MIT. Your stats will be competitive with every other applicant, but you need those letter of recommendations to be kickass and your essay to be out of the park. That’s what can set you aside from the rest, I think if you get those down-pat you should have a good chance.

However, be aware MIT is known for being really stiff on their acceptances, sometimes it seems as if it’s a flip of a coin.

Good luck!

Oh, i am gonna get letter from my CALC AB/BC teacher.
He knows a lot about me, and he’s a great speaker so I am not worrited if he writes a boring letter.
Also i am getting one from my spanish teacher-she loves me and she also knows significant achievement in spanish.
Yeah, MIT is definitely stiff. I hope that I break through the stiff.
my personal essay is english teacher-approved great essay.
Thanks1

Lake Oswego perhaps? I have some friends that go there.
Great stats and achievements, I’m envious! Perhaps not doing any sports might be a bit of a setback, but I don’t think it matters too much for MIT. Not much you can do now to fortify your overall application though. Good luck

Write a brilliant and funny essay…your chances are very high.
please chance me back!

@hambird.
Sports are too expensive! They will know.
Thanks! MIT won’t care at all.

Are you Lake Oswego student too? I am! Too bad theres no Calc 3 or other kinds of science.

You have great stats and EC… but so do most of the other MIT applicants. Since MIT accepts fewer than 10%, you should be concentrating on a list with other schools too. I think your qualifications could earn you nice merit scholarships at many schools. Good luck!

I’d definitely apply to more than MIT, but your chances look great (relatively)!

Who would apply for MIT only?
