Chances for Newhouse ED

Hi, I am a Senior in high school and I am applying to Newhouse ED. Here are my stats:

GPA: 3.67 unweighted (4 AP's, 6 honors, and all A's and B's)
SAT: 1860
EC's: Tennis Team (1-4 and Captain my Senior year), Newspaper (1-4 and Sports editor my Senior year), Interned at a theater production company over the summer, Volunteered at an old age home last year, went to Mexico to help build a house for an impoverished family over the summer, Italian Club (1-4), Ski/Snowboard Club (1-4), NHS (3,4), Creator and Writer for my own blog about the Yankees, and a few others I am forgetting.
Essay: Very solid
Teacher Recs: Great (One is from an SU alum)
Counselor Rec: Very good
Rank: N/A
I visited for the Fall reception a few weeks ago and I have an interview set up for Monday

What are my chances of getting in?

Oh yeah I am also from New York and I am also part of a the paintball Club, an Ambassador to my school, and I was a ball boy at the US Open for the past few years.

Looks good, Matty. The competition for ED is slightly lessened, so that’s nice to know. Your GPA and SATs may be a touch low since the average is constantly on the rise. What was the split?

Showing enthusiasm for the field is important, and good writing is key. Sports journalists are kind of a dime a dozen at SU, so the blog is a good way to stand out. Be professional at your interview and keep in touch with the visitor’s office. Good luck.
