Chances for NEXT year?

<p>im a currently a sophomore but i have racked up so many credits i will be able to graduate next year. I was hoping you could tell me my chances of getting into jhu if i applied early decision?</p>

<p>unweighted GPA: 3.85
weighted: 3.967
recalculated GPA for jhu(w/o freshamn year): 3.90
Class Rank: 15/332, being ranked with ppl a year older than me
(Plus i am expecting all A's for this semester so that should raise it up some</p>

<p>I'm planning to apply as a math major which should work to my advantage as you will soon find out</p>

<p>SAT: 2040 (800 M, 610 CR, 630 W)
SAT II: Math level 2: 800 planning on taking chem or physics later</p>

<p>Freshman year: Class (grade first semester, grade second semester)</p>

<p>Honors English 9: (A,A-) Debate (A, 1 semester class) Health (A, 1 semester class), Honors Biology (B+,B) that is scaring me, AP Calc AB (A,A, 5 on AP exam), spanish 2 (A,A), Honors World Studies (A,A)</p>

<p>Sophomore year: only 1 semester has occured so far</p>

<p>Spanish 3 (A), gym (A), currently in AP gov this semester (expecting A), Ap Calc BC (A), regular chemistry (A), honors english 10 (A-) and Ap physics (A)</p>

<p>Schedule for next year: AP lang comp, Calc 3 (at local college), Ap world lit, AP chem, Ap us history, AP Spanish Language, Regular Econ (1 semester)</p>

<p>Extracurriculars: Debate team 1 year, 2 years varsity tennis, One Small Step 2 years (secretary this year), Quiz bowl 2 years, science olympiad one year, volunteer as tutor 1 year, at salvation army 1 year, and student council representative 1 year, NHS next year( not old enough yet)</p>

<p>Honors: MMPC finalist 2 years, AIME qualifier 1 year (havent started competition yet this year), Will be AP scholar with distinction and end of this year</p>

<p>wow jhu, doesn’t look at freshman year? Damn, if thats the case, I am screwed…</p>

<p>as for chances, your high school schedule is riogours, BC your sophmore year, I am only taking that my senior year…you need to bring up the math and wrting, if you get around a 700 in each of thse sections, your chances are much better…</p>

<p>I don’t think applying as a math major will necessarily be to your advantage, because JHU doesn’t admit people based on their major (unless we’re talking about BME). There’s no quota for math majors or bio majors at all. They’re great grades, but there’s no actual “advantage” based on your major.</p>

<p>You seem to have good chances, though. But why did you calculate your GPA without freshman year? Is this something new that I’m missing, even as an ED-admitted student?</p>
