I have over 150 hours of volunteer and plan to add 100 more this summer.

Anyway, chances for:

Columbia U
UGA
GSU
Mercer

So, Columbia is my reach and the other three are my matches/safeties, any other matches I could add? Preferably LACs on the East coast and Good research universities with a solid Biology/Biophysics department.

you definitely have a good chance with all schools. just improve your SAT and try getting a perfect GPA your senior year. and make sure you stand out with community service/volunteer work. and make sure you have a plan on your major cause then it depends on what you want to major at that certain school.

No, you probably wouldn’t get into Columbia and other ivies/top colleges with your SAT score…but honestly who cares? If I had URM status I’d be psyched. Embrace it.

You have good grades although im, as im sure colleges will be, a bit worried about your scores on ap world and ap chem. I think columbia is a high reach for you unless you can bring your SAT up to 2100+. With good essays i think you will have a decent shot at getting in.

I dont know too many LACs besides the top such as williams, amherst , haverford, etc which are just as competitive as columbia, but some lower tier ones that have very good reputations i know are muhlenburg and oberlin.

You should talk to your guidance counselor and come up with a list of schools that are within your range.
