I’m not sure if I should take subject tests. If anyone has any advice about that and what subjects to do them in for my major I’d really appreciate it.

Not really an expert on UVA, but Northeastern accepts plenty of kids from my school with stats worse than yours. In fact, if you got your SAT score above 1480 or so, I think you could even call Northeastern a low reach/safety.

^I’d be a little careful with calling Northeastern a low reach/safety. Last year their acceptance rate dropped tremendously, and with the process getting more and more competitive you have to be careful. Besides, the situation could be different at different schools. What if Northeastern is taking more kids your region vs. another one?

You are a competitive applicant. Your stats and ECs are good. Write great essays and you could get accepted to either school

NEU acceptance rates dropped like a rock this year. Here’s a couple of statistical points which may or may not help you out:

D: 2016 ED, 3.6 UW, 4.2 W, 34 ACT, 9 AP classes, Neuroscience major - accepted (and enrolled) - didn’t take SAT
S: 2018 RD, 3.75 UW, 4.3 W, 35 ACT, 1540 SAT, 10 AP classes, 800 Math II, 780 Chem, Computer Science major - waitlisted
