Chances for Northeastern

I fell in love with that school when I visited!! Just wanted some opinions

Standardized testing:
ACT: 33
Bio Subject Test: 710
*Currently studying for the Math 2 Subject Test

Freshmen Year:
I took all honors and got all high A’s unweighted.
My weighted average was a 102-103.

Sophomore Year:
I took all honors again plus AP World history which I got a 4 on the exam for. I got all A’s unweighted.
Average was around 101-102.

Junior Year:
I took all honors and three AP: AP Physics I (I got a 3 on the exam), AP Language (I got a 3 on the exam), and APUSH (I got a 4 on the exam). I kept straight A’s all year except fourth quarter in AP Language I got an 87 :frowning:

Senior Year:
I am currently writing this at the end of junior year, but for senior year I plan to take 5 AP courses, plus an electrical engineering class.

Extracurriculars:
I did girls cross country all four years, plus some seasons of winter and spring track
I did orchestra all four years, working my way up to first chair for the oboes and also becoming Secretary and then Vice President of Orchestra
I did Global Ambassadors and hosted exchange students since middle school. I became Secretary of the organization.
I did my middle school’s alumni committee, where I currently serve as President.
I am president of my school’s ROCC organization, which stands for recycling our cans club.
This past year I became Secretary of the National Honor Society Board, and also became apart of the Student Council.
I am apart of my school’s Irish Dancing Club, and I plan to join the Irish Dancing Club at Northeastern if I get in.
I volunteer at my local hospital every weekend for four hours.
I tutor as apart of National Honor Society in Math and Biology.

I wanna apply to Northeastern for the Electrical Engineering Majors, I am a white girl (that sounds so obnoxious to say lol). What are my chances?

I would say your chances are pretty good. Your scores and grades are high for Northeastern, even for engineering I believe. I would definitely try to get a good math II score. Bio is a nice one to have for engineering since it’s a science, but I would also consider taking physics or chem if you’re really interested in an engineering major.

Northeastern is a solid match. your stats are average for admitted students. Based on 2018 results posted here om CC admission is not predictable. Applying ED would certainly help.

You seem like a typical candidate. You’ll probably get in, but I’m not sure how much merit if any you will be offered. If you can apply ED and be full pay you have a very good chance.

@jujunette01 I would like to take the Physics Subject Test, but I’m not sure that I’ll have enough time by the Early Action date. I figured it’d be more important to get a Math 2 score.

@RightCoaster I can pay full, but if I can do something to increase my chances for money, I would really appreciate it haha.

@charykit1 Northeastern loves high stats/test scores kids, that’s where the $$ flows. Being a girl interested in Stem/engineering might help to gain admission easier, but I don’t if they are shelling out $$ to bring girls in.
If you are a girl looking for $$ and want to study engineering you should check out WPI.

Just took my Math 2 and got 770!! NU doesn’t even require subject tests, so I’m not sure if I should even go take the Physics Subject test like I was thinking about doing.
