Recommendations: From AP Gov and AP Lang teacher, should be pretty good

You are literally the perfect applicant and on target for all schools except Yale. I think by this point, the only thing you can do to differentiate yourself from other kids with perfect stats like you is to have great essays and recs.

Chance me! http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1417488-chance-cmu-jhu-nyu-umich-cwru.html

Thank you! And haha yeah I know Yale’s a huge reach… Now that I’m finally done with testing I’ll hopefully be able to write really good essays lol

Yale, Chicago, Brown RD: Reach
GW, Vandy, NW: Solid chances but reach

You got no hooks and numbers are average.
But, you will get into some good to great colleges.

bump
10char

bump i’ll chance back :)

Clearly, you are well qualified academically & with respect to ECs. The decision, I suspect, will be made on the basis of your recommendations & essays at the most selective universities.

NWU: High match
Tufts: High match
Brown: Reach
Yale: Reach
Georgetown: High match
U Chicago: High match (pay attention to your essays)
Boston College: Match
Vanderbilt: Match
Rochester: Safety
William and Mary: Low match
Brandeis: Low match

@Catria: How are any of these schools “reaches” based on the info. shared by the OP ? Odds are low since acceptance rates are below 10% for both schools, but OP’s stats & activities suggest that neither is a reach, just unlikely percentage-wise. In short, what is your definition of a “reach” ? Thanks in advance !

A reach is about ~20% or below for me. If I had to differentiate between reach levels…

Brown: Low reach
Yale: Reach

OP: Are you planning to apply EA or ED to any of these schools ?

@Catria: Then, by your definition, wouldn’t Northwestern be a reach ? Especially so if OP applies RD ? Chicago ?

I’m applying RD to all of the schools… Essays/scores weren’t ready in time anywhere for EA lol

And yeah, I also assumed NWU, Chicago, and Vanderbilt were reaches since they all hover around 12-17%. I wasn’t sure though if my EC’s were good enough to make a really good applicant to those schools lol. Thank you all for your input!!
