Should I add:
-Georgetown
-Villanova
-Cornell
-any other schools??

Recs: Latin teacher w/ Princeton phd; Math teacher who went to cornell undergrad and stern MBA

What are my chances to these schools and how accurate do you think my list is? Should I aim lower/higher? Again, planning to major in Finance/Econ and looking for job on Wall Street eventually or at a large IB firm or BB.

Please help a fellow senior out! Any and all advice is welcome. I'll try my best to chance back! :)

bumppp

NYU Stern ED sounds good for you, perhaps you might want to boost a little of your SAT scores though.
It seems that your reaches are Columbia, Carnegie Mellon and Duke. If you’re applying in a range of 10 schools, I believe 3 reaches would be sufficient, so perhaps try not to add Cornell (unless you really want to and don’t mind writing another application).

Georgetown suits politics/international relations more than Business/Finance, so probably not. I believe your score is well above the range of Northeastern, Rutgers, etc. BC and UNC sounds suiting.

NYU Stern usually wants SAT of about 2250, while its colleges want 2150. You can use your 2nd choice to apply to its college :)

Good luck. Chance me back!

@alafae thank you!! and just chanced you back  It’s too late to boost SATs now but I’ll work with what I have haha. Stern is looking more and more like a stretch so I’m aiming for BC or UNC.

NYU - honestly, I’ve seen people with terrible grades get into Stern so I really don’t know what they’re expecting, but I’ve also seen really good people turned away, so I’d say anywhere from a reach to a match
-Columbia - reach, but it’s a reach for everybody
-Duke - low reach
-UNC Chapel Hill - reach, unless you’re in-state, it’s significantly harder for out-of-state
-Boston College - low reach/match
-Carnegie Mellon - low reach/match
-Northeastern University - match
-Rutgers - safety
-Lehigh - safety

Should I add:
-Georgetown - I would be really careful with Georgetown. If you’re more into maths & sciences, it may not be the right place for you. Their business school is not very strong, they’re very politics-centered.
-Villanova - Definitely a really good safety school, better than Rutgers for safety, and I’ve seen people get a lot of money so if you’re looking for another safety/ are thinking about replacing Rutgers and/or Lehigh, you should definitely add Nova
-Cornell - You definitely could add another reach!

@ssswims‌ thank you!!

bump. Also-- took the Math II Subjects this October and scored a 770, which will hopefully balance out my low Math SAT I score…
