Chances for NYU ED??

I want to apply ED to NYU this coming fall. What do you think my chances are, because if I have no shot I would like to apply ED to Fordham instead.

Some quick facts about me: white, female, upper middle class, from Westchester County, NY (in-state). I attend a well-respected and nationally ranked public school.

GPA unweighted: 3.6 (took all honors/accelerated courses starting from 8th grade)...the courses that have brought my average down have been things like health and other semi-pointless requirements. The grades in my core curriculum are stronger.

SAT scores: 690(math), 700(critical reading), 640(writing)..I'm going to try and improve them.

APs from 10th to 12th grade- World History, US History, European History, Lang. and Comp., Lit. and Comp., Economic, Statistics, Environmental (5 on all that I have taken thus far except for US History (4)).

Others- 4 years of accelerated and enriched French, same for science, math, english, and history. I have also taken American Sign Language, Latin, and mandarin Chinese. EC- National Honor Scoiety, National French Honor Society, Tennis team, track team, newspaper club, 3 musical performance groups (2 school affiliated and 1 not)

I don't have an out-of-school job, and I'm going to do volunteering this summer.

Oh, and I failed Gym twice. Im not sure if this will go on my transcript, though, as it doesnt count toward my gpa.

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!!

and i am NOT applying to Stern

Well being that you failed gym TWICE makes you seem like a lazy candidate. Other than that you have a bit below-typical NYU stats. Almost like mine except your SAT is higher but I've taken the SATII. Remember that if you want ED you have to either apply with the SAT scores you have now and take the SATII in fall or redo your SAT and miss out on the SATII, which would be an automatic reject to NYU. You have a lot to do this summer to improve. I'm taking a volunteer job in the city and searching for a paying job now. You should definitely try to do both (in my opinion it will be more impressive than straight volunteering) GOOD LUCK because you're basically like me! Here are my stats:

if you want to get chanced, make your own thread instead of adding onto someone else's thread. JCM, you have a good chance at making NYU, but failing gym twice won't be favorable towards your acceptance. NYU is a very unpredictable college as they accept people with different strengths from year to year, hopefully you'll get accepted. With a great essay and teacher recs, you should make NYU and easily make fordham. BTW what are you planning to major in?

miragemage, I was simply showing my stats. I was not asking to be chanced!

I think that I want to major in economics, possibly with a minor in french.
