Chances for NYU Gallatin EDII

Hello,

After an extensive hunt for colleges, I determined that Gallatin is, without a doubt, a school perfectly suited to my interests. Knowing that this is the school for me, I applied Early Decision II. My ideal major at Gallatin would combine ethnomusicology, journalism, art history, and cultural anthropology.

Just so I don't have a nervous breakdown in these next 24 days, I would like to know my chances for admission to Gallatin.

Here are some of my stats:

GPA
3.34 Unweighted
3.6 Weighted

SAT
Math: 730
Critical Reading: 710
Writing: 620

SAT II
Math 2: 640
Literature: 620

APs
Calculus AB: 5
Chemistry: 4
English Language: 3
Literature:
Environmental Science:
Government:

I feel as though my extra curricular activities are much better indicators of my passions and direction than my academic transcript.

My personal statement worked to the same effect. The idea behind the essay was that my defining personal quality is a deep, voracious interest in music. The essay explains how it has become an organizing principle of my life and the basis for a series of inter-related accomplishments.

Here is a list of some of those accomplishments and pursuits.

-Owned and operated a DJ business for the past 4 years. I have performed at venues, art openings, and events all throughout the greater Los Angeles area.

-I have spent two years working on my high school's yearbook. This past year I worked as a section editor.

-I currently hold a leadership position at my school as Commissioner of Noontime Activities.

-This past summer I sought out and secured internships at two different Los Angeles independent record labels.

-I have played with the jazz band for three years as a lead trumpet.

-My most recent endeavor has been founding, editing, and designing a 20-page, full-color magazine at my school. The publication showcases the styles of innovative new artists and musicians from around the LA area. We recently released our first issue. I mailed a copy off to the NYU admissions office.

I feel VERY confident in my personal statement, letters of recommendation, and supplemental essays.

Thanks! I can't wait to hear your responses.

How do I delete this?

Oh hello again.
