Chances for NYU regular decision

<p>Hi! I'm going to apply to this college this fall, and I'm wondering what chance I have with these stats:</p>

<ul>
<li>3.76 GPA weighted 3.65 unweighted</li>
<li>1 AP class sophomore year (received a 4), 2 this year, and 2 next year
-28 ACT score (30 English 29 Math 8 Writing)
-MN resident
-African-American
-Decent amount of extra curriculars (Key club since sophomore year, did Track and Field as well as the Speech team this year, and will be in Student Council senior year)
-60+ volunteering hours
-No class rank
-Letter recommendations will be probably be finished in October</li>
</ul>

<p>So what chance do I have? Thanks!</p>

<p>So/so GPA and “meh” ACT.
Normally as a URM it might push you in, but NYU gets lots of applications from stellar AA applicants so I don’t think your URM status is going to help you that much here.</p>

<p>I’d say it’s a reach for you.</p>

<p>Well my ACT superscored is a 29. WIll that help?</p>

<p>Your GPA is average, but your test scores don’t make up for it. If you can bring your ACT up, then you have a solid shot. Otherwise, I see it as a reach school.</p>

<p>I suggest focusing on ACTs during summer and take it one last time in the fall before applying, and if you get 30 of above, you have a decent chance! </p>
