Chances for NYU?

High School Junior
GPA: 3.6 unweighted...not sure what is it weighted.
SAT: 2330
ACT: 33

I'll be taking my SAT II's soon, but I expect high scores.

As for EC, I'm a long time member of my local search and rescue team. I'm a licensed K-9 Handler in both air scenting and cadaver work. Various clubs, NHS, musical instruments, etc etc.

I'll be interviewing soon and NYU is my top choice. Recent family problems have caused my GPA to drop from a 3.8 to a 3.6, which is killing me, and I don't know if my SAT score will make up for it. I can write a hell of a good essay and I'm sure I'll interview alright, I'm just extreeeeemely nervous.

Any ideas of what I might expect?

80% chance you are in.

unless you’re applying to Stern, which even still you’d have a good chance, I’d say 95% chance you get in

I hope that your recent family problems won’t interfere with your parents’ ability to pay for NYU. NYU doesn’t give good aid.

FAFSA does, though. With $0 yearly income, my score is suuuper low. I can cover the rest.
