Hey,

I am thinking about applying as a OOS (from the Northeast) transfer student to UF for Summer B session or Fall 2012. I already got into some awesome schools in the Northeast. I have approx. 80 credit hours. Overall College GPA, 3.0. High School GPA, 4.0. SAT/ACT scores are not required for transfer application. What are my chances at UF? I know that OOS applicants don't have a good chance in general...should I still apply?? I plan to major in Chemistry.

Thanks!

Someone please reply, thanks!!

Transferring from an OOS university is hard. First check that you have completed all required courses or will have be taking prior to entering UF if you are accepted. If you dont meet the chemistry major requirements for transfer students you will not get in. I would check the website for major requirements and contact an advisor. Your high school gpa has little to no effect on their decision. A 3.0 gpa, even though you’re a chem major, is low for UF. Most successful transfers have a minimum 3.5 gpa. In addition most transfers have 60 credits and perhaps only a little more. If you are accepted only 60 credits will transfer. If you really want to go to UF you should apply, just be aware of the requirements. Also, applying for summer b or fall 2012 you need to get your transcripts and application in asap as the deadline is in march and decisions for some also come out then.

^^ yikes…thanks for the advice

Does anyone one else want to provide input/advice??? Thanks!

Having a 3.0 GPA for UF there is a very slim chance. UF is a tough school to get into, even for transfers.
