chances for oos

Hi. I am an out of state student from florida, hoping to gain admission to uva. Please rate my chances. Any comments are appreciated.

My stats are:

SATI: 2280, 770 CR, 780M, 730W
SAT II: 750 Chem, 770 U.S., 750 Math IIc
ACT: 35
PSAT: 229, national merit semifinalist for sure, finalist probably

Rising senior in IB program

6 ap classes taken, 6 in senior year, as well as IBs
Senior year: Macro, Comp. Gov., Stat, Calc BC, English Lit., Bio

IB Chem SL: 5
IB Spanish SL:6

APUSH: 5
AP Euro: 4
AP Calc AB:5
AP Eng Lang: 4
AP Chem: 5
AP Spanish: I had to take an alt alt this year, and Collegeboard never wrote an exam for it . I would have gotten a 3 though.

I have a 3.6 unweighted GPA and a 4.3 weighted GPA. I have taken just about every course honors since freshman year and have gotten a's and b's in all of them. However, I hope the admissions people take this into account, as I go to an EXTREMELY hard school, ranked #2 or #3 in the country. Also, my rank is quite low, 46/350 (I think). But I'm not even sure if my school sends rank to colleges

What are my chances of getting in?

Also, if possible, evaluate for Columbia early decision, UNC EA and UVA RD, and Uchicago RD

If these fail, I can always get into UF, but I'd prefer not to.

I think you have a shot at it. You have great EC's, but your class rank is so-so. Your SAT's and AP's offset that. Yes, you have a decent chance at UVA.
Columbia, and UNC--early action: deferred.
In spring: rejected from Columbia, accepted at UNC.
UVA, and U. Chicago, probably accepted.
You have stellar qualifications, but there are so many people out there that have them too. At UVA you must nail the essays--but it looks like you write well, at least from some of the awards you have won. Also, do you have a hook of some sort??? Legacy status??
Best wishes in your success.

Class rank is really important because it weighs you against others in your class. GPA alone is a lone value, but rank compares you with competition. I personally think that some schools get suspicious when there is no official class rank. I applied to, and got accepted to Notre Dame and they were extremely clear that they look EXTREMELY close to the class rank. But, all schools have their quirks. UVA looks at everything, but essays are crucial.

Yes, I was just at an info session for UVA, and they said they weight GPA and rank more than SATs. So if you can bring your GPA and rank up, you should have a good shot. That being said, I'd say you're in at UVA and UNC, denied at Columbia, and waitlisted at UC.

I think you'd be in at the UVA, Chicago (people overstate how hard it is to get in ) and UNC. Columbia is a crapshoot, less so than other schools, so still apply.

I think you have a good shot at each of those schools, all of your test scores are stellar! In at UVA for oos :)
