Chances for Out-of-state Financial Aid.

Hey guys! I have a quick question about UW's financial aid. I'm an applicant from California, and was wondering what my chances are for getting good financial aid from UW. Even though my family has a pretty high income, I wanted to know if they would give me financial aid as an out-of-state applicant to lower the huge tuition, which is something along the lines of $36,000, so I'm pretty sure I wouldn't go there for full tuition. So, basically, how generous is UW with Out-of-state financial aid?
Thanks a lot for answering this question! :)

bump Anybody know?

Financial Aid for out-of-state students is not very good at UW, or at any other large state funded university. Also, you only get Aid if your family doesn’t make a certain amount per year.

^ This is for in-state students. I know if you get at or under 65% on the chart your tuition gets covered. I don’t know what they do with out-of-state students though.

You might be able to get scholarships if you have a VERY good academic record/well rounded student.

Alright thank you
I think I am kind of screwed then…but I’ll see what happens.

Washington state is having terrible budget problems and cutting money everywhere they can. UW is looking to OOS students to help by paying more than they can charge in state students. They don’t give any merit aid to freshmen, in or out of state. Really all they have is the federal money. For in state students there is the state grant, but it is unclear what is happening with that with the current budget situation. Sorry…
