<p>RANK: my school doesnt rank, they feel like it fosters unhealthy competition, so they put us in quartiles. I am in the 1st quartile, meaning that i am in the top 20% but i dont know where i lie in that group.</p>

<p>My biggest Interest however is my T.V. show on public access tv. In the summers i produce, direct and host my own tv show. I founded the show and i fund it through my work directing other tv shows. I have interview some very famous journalists and a US senator.</p>

<p>I will get good recs and my essay will be about my show.</p>

<p>i took the act as a junior and got a 30, i didnt know anything about the test when i took it, so i am confident that i can increase my score a few points</p>

<p>I believe you will get in just for the sheer fact you are a fellow bass player</p>

<p>I have played the double bass for 8 years, various outside orchestras, school symphonic orchestra, as well as the electric bass. keep up the good work, and even if you didn't play the bass, you'd still get in</p>

<p>i think you have a decent shot. your scores are a bit low, but your boatload of impressive extracurrics will help.</p>

<p>you definately have a chance. although recs will not be read, your essays sound like they would be interesting to read, and although most people will tell u essays don't matter to a school like uc berkeley, but i truly believe they are what got me into cal. i have a 2060 sat and 31 act and i got in as an oos student and was given the chancellor's scholarship. so with you characteristics, i would say you don't have anything to worry about.</p>
