Hi guys, I'm from CT and was wondering if anybody could tell me what my chances looked like. Here are my stats:

GPA: around 3.8 (I had drastic rise from Freshman year, which brought me down a good deal)
SAT: 740v, 680m, 740w
EC: basic volunteer work, baseball, writing, awesome job with ESPN, tutoring, teaching baseball,

your s.a.t. scores seem to be great.....even good for an out of state student.....and the fact that you drastically improved from your freshman year shows that you are a solid student.....the only problem with what you wrote is your ecs......if i was on the admissions committee i would really look at the ones that you have.....you pretty much have no extraordinary leadership activities and i don't really know about any achievements since you did not list any......any other questions please email me personally at mdmcrae@email.unc.edu

i think you're pretty good along the lines of grades and scores... what types of classes are you taking? also, can you be more specific when describing your ec's? that could definately make them appear stronger.

Tiger, just saw your post and thought it was a little funny that we have almost identical stats, the drastic rise included. I like UNC a lot too. Have you visited or anything? Keep me posted, because we're in the exact same boat. Also, whats the cool ESPN job, I've dreamed of working for The Worldwide Leader for years.
