Chances for Penn CAS?

I want to apply for Penn CAS to study economics (I think). What are my chances of getting in early decision?

SATs: 800cr 760m 720w(7 essay :/) (2280)second sitting, ~~2090 first sitting 710cr 700m 680w

Subject tests: will take US History, Biology, Math 2 (studying hard so I anticipate high scores)

AP: Tests: Psych (5) Calc AB (4) US Gov't (4) Classes: AP Language, will take Calc BC, AP Lit, AP Bio

Senior year courseload: AP Calc BC, honors statistics, AP Bio, AP Lit,

GPA: ~3.85
Rank: top 10% is all I know

EC's: Boys Scouts-Eagle Scout, Senior patrol leader. pole vaulting (11), fencing at YMCA (9,10,11), scholastic scrimmage (11), NHS, FBLA (made it to states) weightlifting if that counts for anything, will be doing all of the above and

Volunteering: Two week-long mission trips to a homeless shelter to construct and repair buildings, Meals on wheels, several other small things

Other: Will take Economics course from local community college online this fall. Pennsylvania native if that gives a boost :D,

Solid chance, the 7 essay might hurt you, and the 3.85 UW gpa might slightly hurt you also.

thanks =) yeah I’m worried about the essay…I got an 8 on the first essay, but I’m not sure if I should submit that SAT score because it’s pretty low.

Penn requires that you submit all testing history.

Even with score choice though

Probably NM semifinalist too, I forgot to add that. I got 220 on PSAT. Also forgot to say I’m a white male from a middle income level, which will probably hurt my chances

Penn requires that you submit all testing history, therefore, they don’t allow score choice.

oh alright thanks

bump bump bump

bump 10char

i mean your scores are good, but that can only take you so far…your ECs don’t seem very special nor do you seem committed to many things for a long period of time. i have trouble seeing from your record that you have a passion for something, you seem to dabble everywhere. but then again, maybe you can write some great essays to describe your passions. and please don’t say you “anticipate high scores” it’s very presumptuous. and beware of over-weighting gpa/board scores…penn (any top school) can fill a class 3 times over w/ kids with your scores (and maybe even better? i dont really know). but good luck!

Thanks! Sorry if I sounded presumptuous. I just meant that I’ve been studying alot and I’m hoping it will pay off. The EC’s I’ve been most committed to have been Boy Scouts (since first grade) and fencing (8 years on and off)
