Chances for Premed/White/Male

Hey guys, new to the fourms but I have been reading here for some time. It seems that a lot of the postings on these fourms are geared toward people going for HYPS, and even though that's not me, I would still appreciate some feedback. Schools:

Case Western
Rice
Grinnell College (IA)
WashU
University of North Carolina Chapel Hill
Brown
University of Chicago

There are some others I'm looking at, but I don't think I should have that much trouble getting in.

Profile

Male/Wealthy family ($150000+)/White/Epileptic (Not sure if this matters)/Chicago, IL/Premed

ACT: 32
SAT: 660 CR, 710 Math, 670 Writing
PSAT: 200 (NM Commended Scholar)

GPA: 3.86 Unweighted, 4.15 weighted
School doesn't report class rank, but it's one of the most competitive schools in Illinois, I'm probably top 10-15%

AP's: So far, have taken 4, will have taken 7 by end of HS. So far all 4's with one 2 that I will probably request be taken out (Macroecon, not my forte)

EC's:

Volunteer in Surgery Room at local hospital, 2 yrs

Member of Investment Club 2 yrs, Executive Board Correspondence Officer

National Honors Society

Model UN Captain (3 years)

Work at local Supermarket (15 hrs/week)

Won writing contest, been published in local newspapers

Played clarinet for 5 years, in school Wind Ensemble, have played with town's adult municipal band

Thank you for your feedback.

Brown and UChicago will probably say no. Your ECs and scores don't make you a great applicant. And, if you're applying to PLME at Brown, there's no way you'll get into that program. It's just too competitive.

The other schools look like good matches though.

I figured that out of that list, I had almost no shot of getting into Brown, and I really doubting UChi and WashU. I visited WashU and loved it, are there any schools similar that would be a match?

Thanks

^I think you could get WashU. It's not as crazy selective as people think. I certainly wouldn't put it at the same level as UChicago and Brown.

Tufts and HoLY Cross

considering you're a wealthy white male;

Case Western- match
Rice- reach
Grinnell College (IA)- low reach
WashU- high reach
University of North Carolina Chapel Hill- oos?- high match
Brown- high reach
University of Chicago- reach

if you want midwest lacs, maybe oberlin and macalester? emory would be a good slight reach...good for pre-med

Thanks for the help. Anybody else?
