can someone please chance me??

Just chance me back and I’ll be happy.

Weighted GPA is good, but your SAT Reading falls a little short for the colleges that you’ve mentioned.

Math II doesn’t help either: Most kids who apply to competitive schools have 780~800 on the Math II, and little lower for Science ones.

List of AP courses look good, and it seems like you have lots of ECs done. However, are there any EC that you’ve done where it shows your leadership? Any captain/leadership position at all?

Princeton, Cornell, CMU, UVa, BC?

Princeton is Very high reach. GPA/AP courses match, but SAT lacks, and EC doesn’t make you stand out.

Cornell you have more chance compared to Princeton. Since I don’t know about Cornell that much, however, I would say Low Reach/Reach

CMU would be a Reach/Low Reach. Since you said Biology, you will have harder time getting into CMU compared to other divisions (unless I’m confusing something here)

UVa: sorry don’t know where this is, not going to assume =/

Boston College: Low Reach/High Match.

Remember that in your essays, tell the colleges who you are. Even 4.0 GPA students can have a bad essay, while 3.0 GPA students can have amazing essays that the admission officers love.

Sorry, I just love criticizing people. Not because I’m an arse, but because there are too many nice people here on CC. Someone has to be pessimistic and bring up all the points =P

Chance me back?

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1008044-chances-me.html

Yeah I know my ECs are my weakest point and I really should have done better on math II :stuck_out_tongue: My main leadership is in volleyball but unfortunately I do not have much else. Thank you for that thorough chance, more chances would be appreciated :)

=) no problem. Like I said, I would love to bring out the best in everyone here, so I try to be harsh when writing these ‘chance’ threads.

One thing though: for TKD, if you did 6 years, shouldn’t you have some awards at competitions, or at least up to 3 pom? (3rd degree)

I did do this NY Open and received silver medals… maybe I should add that in haha. and I’m still a first degree sadly cause I kept missing the black belt tests and cause black belt tests are surprisingly extremely expensive :P

Any awards will help, since it shows the colleges that you’ve actually done those ECs rather than just saying ‘oh I was part of this’

And also, =/. Hope you can get more degrees in the future.

Thanks a lot your advice has helped plenty.

Make sure you have a safety and/or financial safety on your list, just in case you don’t get into any of these schools. Your stats are okay for UVA and BC, but, as you mentioned, your EC’s are a little thin. CMU is a low reach and Cornell is a high reach. Princeton is a dream choice but I encourage you to apply anyway.

Thanks I do. My safeties are SUNY Stonybrook and Binghamton along with BU.
