What chances do I have?
Really?

You have the same exact application as my Asian friend! Like literally, the exact same. :)

Btw he didn’t get in.

Is it just an inkling, or are you kind of an ***hole? XD
I get that my chances are slim, you didn’t have to go and do that…
but I appreciate the feedback nevertheless. : /

i’m rank 1/476.
I’m at a pretty big school, notoriously hard in my area.
my weighted GPA is 5.90 out of 6
Spanish is a required Honors Class at my school, weighted less than AP and GT classes , which are weighted the same.

It is far from hopeless, actually. Just concentrate on the Ecs a bit. With the present stats, if not Princeton , you will gt into some upper ivy

Really? That makes me more hopeful,
What do you recommend when you say “concentrate on Ecs” ?
What other upper ivy’s are you referring to?

Thank you by the way :)

I would focus on the essay. So far we have Asian + Good Grades/Scores + Music EC, a common sight. You do have great stats, but I think your best bet to distinguish yourself will be through your essay

Dont listen to the haters just apply, if you get in then-good if you dont suck it up

I think you are a strong candidate and will be very competitive in these applicant pools. Still a bit of a crap-shoot for the Ivies with most applicants. Did you take any SAT II’s yet? I think your EC’s are very good but not outstanding. Write some great essays and show your passion. You’re going to get accepted to a top-tier school, whichever one that is. Good luck.

The upper ivies HYP are a stretch, but that’s true for just about anyone. I think you have good chances for the mid-ivies (Dartmouth, Penn, and Columbia) though.

Why, because he’s Asian? I mean, he has a lot of AP’s. And a good SAT. I think good essays could do a lot for you. Chances for you are of course slim, like everyone else. Being an ORM doesn’t help. Neither do mediocre EC’s. But your stats are up to par in my opinion.

Very impressive stats, but you sound like a very generic applicant. I don’t mean to sound like a dick, but there are a ton of 4.0 asians with a ton of APs, orchestra, and cross. I don’t want to sound like a dick, I am just stating my observations; you probably have a better shot then me, just apply! :)

BTW With such dedication, you`ll do well wherever you go.

You guys are awesome, and very motivational.

I actually have changed a lot.
My volunteer music ensemble is actually a full orchestra now, and we do many services for the community other than just playing for them.
For example, we’re hosting a informational for kids and children in elem school about to get into an instrument. ALl of us are giving them a short presentation about instruments, giving them a better idea of what it’s like.
We’re also making a cover CD of motivational songs for our Local Cancer Center.

I’ve become more realistic and more idealistic at the same time with the club.
It’s much more than just trying to get into ivy now, i really fell in love with it and
i’m trying to find different ways to use music to do some good.

What state do you live in? Because generally All State is only offered to Juniors and Seniors. But you do need more commitment in some other ECs, instead of just doing one club or another.

the first person who replied, who was like ‘btw you have the same stats as my friend; he didn’t get in’ LOL that was pretty mean/funny

happyhunter9, did you get into princeton?
