I go to a public school in NJ and am a middle class Asian Male (RIP). Probably going to major in Bio (aspiring med school student).

Thanks a lot in advance and any advice y’all could impart would be awesome. I’m pretty nervous lol (as most of us high school seniors are) so I guess this is my way of coping lol.

Great resume. Popular Nat’l Merit schools since it appears you will qualify include UT Dallas, Alabama Tuscaloosa & Huntsville, UCF, and South Carolina.

You know you have great credentials, sterling resume. Well done ! Talk to your school GC who can tell you where the top kids in the schools have been getting acceptances in the last several years. You’ll likely be right there with them.

You well know that Princeton for a NJ kid is a Golden lottery ticket. Difficult enough for anyone but every friggin’ top level high school senior in NJ will be vying for a spot there. BS/MD programs are also lottery tickets for everyone I don’t think I’m sticking my neck out much at all to say you are highly likely to get acceptances to an Ivy, JHU, Duke , other highly selective schools, but which ones… no telling. I have no clue how Rutgers full rides work, how many they give out and the criteria.

Do you need that full ride? Have you run NPCs for the schools on your list? What can your family pay, and does it work out with the NPCs? If money is an issue, like if your family cannot pay what these schools expect from them, Ivys do not give out scholarships, and top ones from Hopkins and Duke are so highly selective that getting them is a minuscule chance. I’ve seen far more kids with your stats NOT get any merit money from those schools than those getting such awards.

Also need a Financial sure thing if money is an issue and you cannot afford Rutgers without that full ride It’s not s safety with a contingency like that.

If your ultimate goal is medical school, then avoid grade deflating colleges like Princeton, JHU, MIT, etc. Go to a college where you can get high GPA and pay the lowest out of pocket.

If BA/MD does not pan out for you, then consider smaller liberal arts colleges. Reason is two fold 1) You will get merit money and 2) You will stand out from rest of graduating college class.

You have great grades and test scores. But getting into Ivies will be tough.
