Chances For Princeton, Williams

Hello All, I am a white male from new jersey that is really interested in attending either Princeton or Williams. I've been reading this forum, and, seeing all these chances threads, have succumbed to making one myself. Any and all input would be great. Thanks!

Again, thanks for taking the time to look over my profile and responding.

anyone at all?

Hard to say, you don't have anything fantastic that sticks out, but even so, you're a very good student so you obviously have some shot.

Was your performance at Carnegie Hall a solo concert with an orchestra of some sort? If so, that's very impressive!

Even with your great stats and ECs, Princeton and Williams will be reaches and not because you are unqualified - you are very qualified - but because so many kids with similar great stats apply to both of these schools, and because both schools are (because they have to be) so selective. Should you apply? Sure. You'd fit in academically at either school, but apply with the understanding that you have, at best, a 30% chance of being accepted.

For some reason, a lot of applicants from the New Jersey area have performed at Carnegie Hall...

Princeton will be a reach, Williams a lesser reach. Add Dartmouth and Amherst if you like these two.

You're qualified. Make your essays stick out and go for it :)

bump......

Is your school a feeder school to Princeton by any chance? If not then your chances aren't particularly great or particularly hopeless- focus on the essays.

yea pureawesome, my school is not a feeder school for any elite schools

bump......

anyone else?

anyone at all.......

Not bad chances for Williams. For Princeton, it is really a reach.
Try adding some other schools--

By the way, if you don't mind traveling a bit farther and going to a bit larger school, you should consider Washington University in St. Louis. Really good school - ranked #11 by US News - and the kids who go there really like it. There's two kids in my neighborhood who go to school there, and they have nothing but good things to say about it. You should check it out. Also, you'd have a bit better chance of being accepted.
