You will get in! Is Wash U a safety school for you?

not really safety, but its one of my top choices

i posted in the Penn forum earlier today, but for WUSTL, be careful about being overqualified--with stats/ecs like yours, they may assume that you're using them as a safety even if you're not

oh... so how do i make it seem like theyre not a safety?

Show lots of interest. Visit if you haven't. Make sure you're on the mailing list. Get the name of the admissions officer for your area and send some e-mails asking relevant questions. Ditto the head of the department in the major in which you are interested.

Thanks for the good luck, and by the way, I was just admitted to WashU EDII.

nice! thanks for post

You just posted on an internet message board that Wash U is not your top choice, but instead is just one of a few colleges you like and also you put down more than enough information to identify yourself.

Do you think school officials never look at this site? The new messages here can be read in 15 minutes a day.

"not really safety, but its one of my top choices"

IMO, this hardly constitues not a top choice; there's a reason why people apply RD...i think that it's pretty obvious that all candidates who apply RD are declaring that particular college as not being their top choice

as i said, its ONE of my top choices and as anonymous said, thats why im applying RD, but main reason is financial aid (since WashU doesnt guarantee to meet 100%)

I can not agree with that statement less. Washington University is my top choice, but due to circumstances, I need scholarship options from other schools, of which I would be happy, but not as happy, to go to. So hence, applying RD is pretty much my only option.

yea, my MAIN reason for RD is financial aid

There is nothing wrong with choosing to apply to several schools RD.
My son applied to WashU RD. Now that he has been at WashU a couple of years, he is certainly glad that he chose WashU over the other schools that also accepted him. BTW, WashU really treats their students like royalty!
