Hi, Northwestern has become one of my top choices after doing some research and talking to a Northwestern Alum/Rep, but unfortunately, I don't really know too much about the northwestern acceptance policy, are they heavy on Grades? ACT?

I think Northwestern is currently a reach/slight reach, but maybe less kids applying because of the economy?

anyone? Thank you

Definately not less applicants due to the economy...
NU looks at the whole package, you have within-range scores and class rank, but alot of qualified people were rejected ED with similar if not better stats. :(

They look at the essay heavily (at least, that's what I think), so really really be enthusiastic and make it memorable. It's hard to chance you because the 2009 applicant pool is so competitive... But best of luck!
