Chances for Reed College, will chance back

<p>Chance me for Reed College?</p>

<p>Caucasian female, Massachusetts
School: 9th-10th grade at a well known public school that you have to test into. All courses were extremely rigorous and the school has a very good reputation and relationship with many east coast colleges.
11th grade I've just transferred to a small private IB school. It is not very well known but as it is an IB school it is still fairly rigorous. Not many EC opportunities or connections however.
Financial: I am able to pay full tuition to any university.
GPA: 2.77 (for 9th-10th grade)
PSAT: 177 (taken in 10th grade, I decided not to take it again this fall)
-Critical Reading: 66
-Maths: 59
-Writing Skills: 52
SAT: Im being tutored now. Planning on taking it for the first time in March and aiming for above 2000. Then improving on that the next time I take it (most likely in May). I am fairly good at standardized test taking. </p>

<p>ECs (heres where the biggest problem is)
-Assistant Editor of literary/art publication (10th)
-Writer for newspaper (11th-12th, will find a way to become more involved in this and get a nice cushy title)
-Mentor/Tutor for underprivileged elementary school students (11th-12th)
-Lacrosse team (11th, haven't started this yet but Im doing it because I've never done an organizer sport. Seeing as I'm not athletic, it is unlikely that I will get a leadership opportunity here)
-Currently leading school in organizing/fundraising for 'Relay for Life', a cancer walk
-Most likely interning at my fathers office this summer (Harvard Medical School)
-If not interning at my fathers office then I will apply for other internships or volunteer opportunities.
-Im currently looking to start a club so that I would have an instant leadership opportunity, however Im not sure what I should start. My school does not have very many clubs.</p>

<p>I obviously had a rough freshman year, but I think Ive recuperated fairly well. I am also looking to improve my ECs, so any suggestions for those would be greatly appreciated. </p>

<p>I am also confident that I can produce great essays, including essays specific to the schools. I am very passionate about these schools! (:</p>

<p>Compare your numbers to a recent entering class at <a href=“https://www.reed.edu/ir/cds/cds1213/cdssecc201213.pdf[/url]”>https://www.reed.edu/ir/cds/cds1213/cdssecc201213.pdf&lt;/a&gt;, especially section C11. Your English grades are troublesome; Reed is a heavily reading and writing school.</p>

<p>I think your chances are not so good. :(</p>

<p>Reed: high reach</p>
