Chances for Rice University?

<p>So I have already been admitted into my safety and my first choice "reasonable match" college, with honors, so yay!!!! I am now only waiting on reaches but because I am hispanic me and my family are relatively new to the whole "american college" scene (my parents went to college but we lived in Venezuela originally and are not native to US). </p>

<p>Two of my three reaches are total hail-mary's but how about Rice?
Major: Physics</p>

<p>SAT I: 2230, (CR 770, M 730, W 730, 12 essay) one sitting
ACT: 34 , one sitting
Math II: 770
Bio II: 710
GPA: 3.75 UW
Class Rank: Top 15% (this is my worry)
APUSH: 5
APLANG: 5
Senior Year Courseload:
AP BIO
BC Calculus
AP Eco
AP Gov
AP Lit
Theater </p>

<p>ECs:
Founder/President Political Forum Club (only political discussion club on campus)
Vice President Chess Club
Chess Tutor for low income junior high kids
International Thespian Society
National Honor Society
Actor in Many plays and award winning musicals
Awards:
National Hispanic Scholar</p>

<p>Hooks: URM. Half-blind??? Is that a hook? I mention it in one of my essays. </p>

<p>I have already been accepted into ASU (full ride, national hispanic) and UT Austin (Plan II Honors/ Health Science Honors acceptance as an in-state non auto admit, admitted into Physics) </p>

<p>I think overall my chances look pretty optimistic, objectively-speaking, for Rice, but I wanted to get more opinions. What do you guys think?</p>

<p>EDIT: I should also add I was rejected from Stanford Early Decision.</p>

What other schools did you apply to other than those you listed?</p>

<p>I applied to ASU, UT Austin, Rice, Yale, Stanford, and Harvard. I knew I had a very good chance at UT Austin (the honors programs were more of a long-shot but now that I’m in them its great because I love what their programs have to offer), its not too close or too far from my home and my family should be able to afford it. I felt like I had a good shot at Rice and its really a beautiful place, I love it. As for HYS, well, shoot for the stars right? :)</p>
