Chances for RSI

I know its a long way off, but I want to know my position and what I can do.

Me- Rising Junior at Phillips, Andover, parents from Iran (I speak Farsi), live in MA

Academic-

9th grade at public HS, had a 4.518 GPA

Sophmore Year-
(Grading System on a 0-6 scale, 5 and 6 are honors grades

Sophmore English Fall-6, Winter-5, Spring-5, Final-5
Second Year French- 5,6,6,6
BC Calc-6.5.6.6 (5/5 on AP)
AP Chem- 5,5,6,5 (5 on AP)
Sophmore History (Fall,one term) 4
Religiion/Philosophy (Diplomia Requirement, one term, Winter) 4
PE (one term, spring)-Pass
Java Computer Programming (one term, Spring) 6

In the Spring term, I had a 6.0 GPA (according to my adivisor, our school rounds, I think). I heard that around 20 students have a 6.0.

Junior Year-
Planned Courses
Junior English
Third Year French
AP Java
AP Physics (with a General Relativity and Quatum Mechanics Elective in the Spring, possibly Comosology in the Winter if my adivsor lets me)
Multivariable Calc

EC's (I have no research experience, just found out what it was in March, too late to apply to anything)

Cross Country (since 10th grade, probably JV this year)
Track (Indoor since 9th, Outdoor since 10th, probably JV)
Math Club (lots of competitions)
Andover Astronomical Society
Science Club (placed 1st in school science bowl)
Mock Trial (co-founder and co-president, this will be our first year)
Summer job at a small company, helping them make a website, isn't much though

My scores on my last practice SAT were something around 670V/780M/690W(based on MC) . My SAT II (IIC and Chem) are both 800's, but I don't think RSI will care.

I can definetly get great rec's and good essays.
I thinks that's all.

I think my weakest point is that I have no previous research experience.
So, what are my chances and what can I do to raise them?

i know it may sound stupid. but what is RSI?

Research Science Institute. A 6-week program run by MIT.

<a href="http://www.cee.org/RSI%5B/url%5D">www.cee.org/RSI</a> i think

bump... please?

Hmm, as you've probably already read, RSI is VERY competitive. Previous research experience isn't REQUIRED, but it helps a lot. How far up did you do in math competitions? (AIME or USAMO or what? USAMO would definitely help) Also, work HARD and try to get perfect SAT & PSAT scores. My neighbor had no research exp, but she got in with perfect SAT, PSAT, and GPA.

AMC 10 with a 113.5. I think I can make AIME this year with a score of at least 4 (judging by some of the practice problems online.

Ah, that's pretty good but most RSI applicants have similar stats. I think your priority should be perfect PSAT/SAT for RSI.

your SAT IIs are excellent, why wouldn't RSI care?
