I am a sophomore in a NJ public high school. I am starting to plan for my future college life, and I am wondering if my grades are good. My freshman year, I finished with a weighted GPA of 3.9375 and ranked 55/321 (top 20%). I plan on playing football and lacrosse all 4 years and being in one or two clubs. If I maintain the same grades throughout high school, will I get into Rutgers? If not, any advice on what I can do?

Definitely. As long as your SATs/ACTs are similar to your GPA, you’ll be fine. With grades like that, though, you should aim higher than Rutgers. Also, as a sophomore, try to get involved in clubs so you can be in leadership positions by junior or senior year. Good luck!

Rutgers should be a safety; the school accepts people with 3.94 weighted starting with ACTs at 20.
